Peter Clark returned to tell us more about what great live music was continuing, on and around the South Parade Pier this weekend and introduced us to the Jews Harp.

Meanwhile, Sue Kell whipped up an interest in an iconic 20th century kitchen appliance that started life just up the road in Havant!

We re-immersed ourselves this week in the utterly fascinating subject of local marine archaeology, in the company of experts Christi Harmargy and Alison Hamer.

We also returned to Brian Gilbert and his family's 100 year old sweet shop in Milton, Portsmouth, for another sugar-rush.

Peter Clark helps organize Portsmouth's Folk Roots and Blues Festivals and today told us all about this year's 10th such event on and around South Parade Pier.

With the air raids over Portsmouth, which lasted from July in one year (1940) until virtually September in the next, as we started reporting a year ago, we are now embarking upon repeating the exercise, but this time with more information gleaned from other references like, for example, Bob Hind's exceptional work Portsmouth - City Of Gallant Hearts and Royal Navy Commander-in-Chief at the time, Admiral Sir William James's collection of letters.

We therefore hope to do greater justice to the memories many of our senior listeners still have of that still relatively recent, awful period in our local history.

Plus Peter Keat with more about Gosport's railways and also our 'in-depth' reporting on people who, as they'd say it in Star Trek English, deeply-go sifting for our local history!

Plus we had the usual local history Quiz, a trip to one of our old cinemas and other regular features of course.
